First, thanks to Toby, I overslept. (yes, I’m blaming the cat!) He just didn’t want to let me sleep for another five minutes so he and his fluffy, white sidekick got locked out of the bedroom. Unfortunately, every time I do this, I oversleep!
By the time I got up, I was already behind schedule and cutting things out of my day.
Thus began a marathon series of phone conversations with my daughter. With her living so far away, how could I not talk to her? And then Fedex brought another package from her which I was clearly not expecting! After opening the gorgeous and unusual locket, I had to chat with her some more, didn’t I?
So I didn’t write today again, nor did I get to the gym, but one more set of 30 squats will have me back on track for the squat challenge. Plus, my kitchen is cleaned up, the sandboxes are scooped the bed got made and both the cats’ food and water got refilled.
I am officially calling this “taking time out to regroup”. Tomorrow, I will be more productive. I have the coffee pot set up to brew in the morning, my shopping list ready to fill after I go to the gym, and I’m feeling very good about tomorrow’s activities. In the meantime, Dylan has been practically glued to my side for most of the day, so clearly, he needs me to just chill and pay attention to him.
This may sound like rationalizing, and maybe, to some degree, it is, but in my new, low stress lifestyle, I need to follow my heart and do whatever it is that seems to need doing on a given day. I do, however, have an unwritten plan to finish the initial edit of my book by the end of May and since we’re halfway there already, I need to get crackin’! It’s only taken me 2 months or so to get halfway through! Surely I can do the rest in two weeks, right???
All of this thinking is making my brain tired. I think I’ll go do my last 30 squats and get some sleep before my busy Wednesday kicks in!
My gratitudes tonight are:
1. I am grateful for my low stress lifestyle.
2. I am grateful for plans
3. I am grateful for kitties who make it clear that they need me (some of them loudly and others by pinning me down with their ample selves!)
4. I am grateful for long chats with my daughter.
5. I am grateful for being able to spend a day just allowing things to flow.
Love and light.
