A week or so ago, I was at Barnes and Noble with my daughter and bought, among other things, 3 books by 3 of my favorite authors. All 3 are well-known and highly successful.
In between reading the 3 books, I was re-reading the novel I started last November in preparation for finishing the first draft. While meditating this morning, a thought popped into my head, and lifted my spirits in a huge way. My writing is as good as any of them!
That’s right, I realized even my first draft with all of its inconsistencies, grammatical errors and has that underlying quality inherent in the polished work of successful writers! The only difference between them and me is that they finish what they start and find someone to publish it! As a typically insecure writer, this is Major!
With this thought in mind, I have suddenly shaken off the motivational roadblocks which have been preventing me from finishing the three articles I need to write and moving forward on finishing the first draft of Hannah’s Chair.
Thanks, Universe. I needed that!
Ok had a hard time figure out where to comment, but found it I think. Great post. Good for you and you go.
Happy IWSG day, so glad you finally joined us

Guess I’m going to have to play with it, or talk to my web designer as I’m not sure how to move it up. Thanks for your input, and of course, your encouragement.
Hmm, did I comment in the right place?
Yes. I just had to approve it.
